Huriyat Conference led by Syed Ali Geelani Sunday came down heavily upon the state authorities over what it termed its ‘revenge policy’ against the people who boycotted the parliament polls. The amalgam accused that a student namely Ashiq Hussain Lone was detained in the district jail Kupwara on the grounds of boycotting the polls in North Kashmir during LS polls. Huriyat (G) accuses that the detainee was severely attacked by the criminal inmates of the jail recently and was shifted to the hospital in the critical condition. “We can say that the boy was attacked at the behest of the state authorities as the same is nothing but a revenge policy of the government here. Huriyat Conference is keeping a close vigil at the situation and wants that the incident be probed by any independent organization,” said Huriyat (G) chief spokesman Ayaz Akbar.Quoting Syed Ali Geelani, Akbar told KNS that the Lolab incident wherein the poor farmers and laborers were allegedly beaten and harassed by the army is condemnable action.
