Santoshi awarded silver, Swati upgraded to bronze

Indian weightlifter Santoshi Matsa's bronze was converted into silver while Swati Singh, who had finished fourth, was given the bronze medal after Nigerian teenager Chika Amalaha was stripped of her Commonwealth Games gold medal in the women's 53kg category for failing a dope test.Papua New Guinea's Dika Toua was given the gold medal. The Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) in a statement said that 16-year-old Chika's sample 'A' and 'B' tested positive for prohibited diuretics and masking agents."The Commonwealth Games Federation has determined that Nigerian weightlifter, Chika Amalaha, has committed an anti-doping rule violation and has fully suspended her from the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow," the CGF said in a statement. "As a result, Ms Amalaha has been disqualified from her event at the Games, with her result in the Women's Weightlifting 53 kilogram competition nullified." Amalaha won the first gold medal for Nigeria in Glasgow, equalling the Games snatch record of 82kg with her first attempt before lifting 85kg on her third. She was also the youngest woman to win a weightlifting title in the history of the Games.
