Gulam Nabi Azad Senior Congress Leader and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha and Prof. Saifuddin Soz MP (Former Union Minister) and President J&K Pradesh Congress Committee addressed a Party Workers Convention of Udhampur and Reasi at Udhampur today.
According to a statement issued to KNS, those who also attended and spoke on the occasion included Sham Lal Sharma Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control. Raman Bhalla Minister for Housing and Horticulture, vice presidents Thakur Hari sing and Mulla Ram Ravinder Sharma MLC and General Secretary, MLA Chennani, Jugal Kishore MLC, Bupinder Singh Pathania, President DCC Udhampur, Senior congress leaders Brij Mohan Sharma, Ashok Gupta, Sanjay Dubey, Anil Pachalia, Surinder Khuria, Ashok Bakshi, Adv. Rajender, Geeta Devi, Shakeel Shah, Sham Sharma, Vinod Khujria and other. As many as 45 prominent workers, Sarpanchs and Panchs spoke on the occasion.
All the leaders unanimously voiced their grievance and said that the Congress Party cadres happen to be enthusiastic to rededicate themselves to the cause of the Congress party and work hard for rejuvenation of the party and they were confident that the Congress Party would emerge as a strong, united and secular political force in the state. These leaders emphasized the fact that the Congress party has served the people of all the three regions of the state to the best of its ability and it is the Congress Party which can serve the people of the State best in the days to come. Ghulam Nabi Azad and Prof. Saifuddin Soz stressed the fact that witnessing the high spirit and unity of the Congress Party Cadres in the several District Conventions in different parts of the state recently left them in no doubt that the Congress Party would emerge as the single largest Party in the ensuing Elections to the J&K Legislative Assembly (2014).
Both (Azad and Soz) cautioned the State Administration not to compromise on the question of maintaining Law and Order and the question of maintaining communal harmony in the State and prove the fact that nobody was above law and all violators of the communal harmony and Law and Order would be brought to justice. That attitude of duty alone would ensure free and fairs elections in l the State.On this occasion several Senior most leaders of the Panthers Party joined Indian National Congress. These leaders included Faqir Nath Ex MLA and provincial president panthers , Daljeet Singh, Chairman Panthers Trade Union, Shakti Gupta State President Panthers Trade Union Krishan Chand Sharma District General Secretary Panthers Party Udhampur, Ajay Gupta Chief Org, Chennani Constituency, Akhtar Hussain Sarpanch Panthers Party Lati.
