Four AAP activists, who were pasting posters for an upcoming party rally here, were arrested Monday on charges of defacing public property, police said. The Aam Aadmi Party termed the case "politically motivated".The AAP activists - Rajesh Kumar, Gulshan, Deepak and Rajinder Kumar - are all aged between 20-30 years. They were booked under various sections of the Delhi Prevention of Defacement of Property Act, 2007.The party claimed pasting posters was not a "crime", and accused the BJP-led central government of using Delhi Police as a "puppet".AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal said in a tweet that the volunteers were putting posters which said a rally was scheduled for Aug 3 at Jantar Mantar to demand fresh elections in the national capital."Police found these posters 'objectionable' and arrested four AAP volunteers. BJP nervous and misusing police?" Kejriwal tweeted.

Another party leader told IANS: "Other political parties also paste posters but why do the police not take any action against them?"Police said the AAP activists were found pasting the posters in south Delhi's Malviya Nagar area early Monday for the rally."They were found pasting the posters at restricted places and were taken to a police station by the patrolling team and put under arrest," a police official said.Police said the four activists were in a car which also had posters on it.
