The sacred night of Shab-e Qadar (night of power) was observed across the subcontinent including Jammu and Kashmir with the zeal and fervor.The largest congregation was in Kashmir was observed at historic Jamia Masjid where thousands of people, led by Hurriyat Conference (M) Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, participated in the night long prayers.According to a statement issued to KNS, throwing light over the religious importance of the night, Mirwaiz said it was the night when first time Quran was revealed to Muslims. He said the book brought blessings, revolution and infused discipline, in the mankind.
Mirwaiz said the Quran was the complete way of life for mankind and till judgment day Muslims would continue to be guided by the holy book. He said it was distressing that the world has put Quranic guidance and teaching on the back burner which has become the cause of suffering and anguish for them.APHC Chairman stated the holy month of Ramzaan gives us opportunity to reform our own selves and the society. He along with thousands of people prayed for the well being of Muslim Ummah. The gathering held special prayers for the suffering people of Palestine and Kashmir beseeching Allah for their independence.Meanwhile APHC Media Advisor Advocate Shahid-ul-Islam has strongly condemned the continuous house detention of senior Hurriyat leader Zaffer Akbar Bhat.
