Sukhbir Singh Badal, Deputy Chief Minister, Punjab today sought an high-level probe by sitting Supreme Court Judge in all land deals especially in Congress ruled states of Haryana and Rajasthan of Vadra Family and said that daily new revelations of undue enrichment of Vadra family from certain land deals makes it imperative for such a probe. 

After laying the foundation stones of development works worth Rs. 600 crore, Mr. Badal was answering queries regarding revelation of murky land deal of Robert Vadra. He said that Mr. Vadra, son-in-law of first family of India exploited his position and a probe was must to know that how the wealth of Mr. Vadra grew from few lakhs to multi thousands crores without a single penny investment by Vadras. He said that he just wanted to know what magic stone Robert Vadra was having that whatever land he purchased in any Congress ruled state turn into gold within few months. Mr. Badal said that it was imperative for UPA Chairperson Mrs. Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh to come clean on this and immediately ordered an enquiry by sitting Supreme Court Judge to bring the truth before the public. He said that NDA demands a white paper on disproportionate appreciation of Vadra’s wealth during last few years. 

When asked about the statement of PPCC Chief Mr. Partap Singh Bajwa that they would knock the doors of Punjab and Haryana High Court for the closure of Sangat Darshan programs, Mr. Badal said that Bajwa was forced to adopt the policy of its High Command not to follow the development initiatives but to create hinders. He said that the Congress leaders do not any problems of masses at ground level but they were adamant to mislead the people of Punjab through wrong propaganda against development oriented SAD-BJP Government.

 On being asked about the arrival of Congress MLAs in CMs Sangat Darshan Program, Mr. Badal said that SAD will welcome Congress MLAs if they come with Publi Issues otherwise won’t allow them to interrupt the programs. Answering a query regarding halted mining operations, Mr. Badal said that it was the gift of Congress led UPA Government to the general public of country as the UPA was deliberately created scarcity of sand and gravels by artificially increasing the rates of sand-gravels. He assured that within few months the rates of sand and gravel would come down.  

While laying foundation stone of first of its knd Output and Performance Based Road project with a total cost of Rs 596.36 crore at Mansa, Deputy CM said that Punjab Government has approved a project with a total cost of Rs 11240 crore for the 4-6 laning of all roads connecting major cities in the state in next 3 years. Besides that for the strengthening of all rural roads across the state, Rs 1400 crore has also been approved. Giving details about the new project Mr Badal said that under this project all major roads of Mansa, Bathinda, Sangrur and Barnala would witness a total facelift in next 2 yares as it includes widening and strengthening, maintenance and resurfacing   of 28.65 KM Bathinda-Talwandi Sabo road upto Ramtirath Jagga, Dhanaula- Bhikhi road 25.34 KM, Mansa-Talwandi Sabo Road 24.97 KM, Barnala-Mansa Road (Mansa Kainchain to Ram Ditte Wala Chowk) 7.29 KM , Sangrur to Sunam 11.30 KM and Bhawanigarh to Kotshamir 106.46 Km. He said that the construction company S Patel Infrastructure would be responsible for the maintenance and resurfacing of all these roads for next 10 years. 

Giving details regarding expansion of welfare schemes in Punjab, Mr. Badal said Punjab would soon double the numbers of beneficiaries of Atta-Daal scheme from 15 lakh to 30 lakh besides providing health insurances up to Rs. 30000 to these families. He said that Punjab is also going to launch an insurance cover for the general public for which special insurance cards would be provided to all beneficiaries. He said that Punjab CM would soon unveil these expansions.On Power issue, Mr. Badal said that they would made their words, making Punjab a Power Surplus State, true within few months as the works on Goindwal, Rajpura and Talwandi Sabo Thermal Plants were on advanced stage of completion. Earlier Mr. Balwinder Singh Bhunder, Rajya Sabha MP also addressed the gathering.    

Prominent amongst those present on the occasion included Mr. Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, PWD Minister, Punjab, Mr. Prem Mittal, Mr. Chittan Singh Samoan, both MLAs, Mr. Jagdeep Singh Nakai, former CPS, Mr. Dilraj Singh Bhunder and former MLA Sukhwinder Singh Aulakh.
