Human rights’ violations: PDP leader says NC acted as ‘mute spectator’

A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) youth leader has accused ruling National Conference led government of acting as mute spectator over human rights violations in state.Jeelani Kumar in a statement said since last five years the government has not acted in any human rights violation case and no one was punished or brought to justice. “Since NC started ruling, it has been acting as mute spectator as it hardly took steps or action against accused,” he said.The PDP leader said the government recently announced government jobs for stone-throwers but no step has been taken yet. “Innocent youth resort to stone-throwing so that their voices could be heard,” he said.The PDP leader ‘condemned the HMT accident where seven people died after an army truck rammed into a passenger cab. He alleged that Chief Minister has no control over security forces and he has failed in stopping killings. He also condemned Gaza killings at the hands of Israeli forces. (GNS)
