Attempt to murder charges:Police booked trio in Pattan

Police Thursday booked trio under section 307 (attempt to murder) of RPC in North Kashmir’s Palhalan area of Baramulla district. Police sources told CNS that scores of youth mostly students have been found indulging in stone-pelting in Palhalan area. Sources added that police is mulling to launch a crackdown on stone-pelters in coming days.“We have so far arrested three youth and booked them under section 307, 148, 149, 336, 427 of RPC. These youth not only assaulted some policemen but also caused injuries to four cops,” a police official told CNS and identified  the trio as Wasim Hasan Gojri (Pattan), Yasin Rehman (Malapora) and Tawseef Ahmed Malla of Palhalan.

Meanwhile, family members of the detained youth told CNS that they are innocent and police picked them while they were playing volley ball. The family members of the trio staged a protest outside police station Pattan and demanded their immediate release. Police advised them to approach court to seek bail for them. (CNS)
