Army on Friday claimed to have foiled two infiltration bids in two different places across Jammu and Kashmir.A senior army official told GNS that a group militants tried to sneak in during wee hours today, however, the army’s 36 RR deployed there challenged them along Line of Control (LoC) in Gurez sector of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.After being challenged, the intruders opened heavy fire upon the army guarding the fence ensuing a gunfight, he said, adding that the militants later returned back.The official said the search operation in the area has been launched.
Similar, army has foiled an infiltration bid near Line of Control (LoC) in Balakote area of Mendhar in Poonch district in of Jammu and Kashmir, a senior army official told GNS.He said that army’s 15 Bihar Regiment challenged a group of intruders who tried to sneak into this side at forward area of Pangani Nallah near Tekri in Balakote area of the district at around 1:00 pm last night.However, the attempt was foiled by the alert troops deployed along the Line of Control (LoC), the official said; adding that searches in the area has been launched.
