Punjab Gatka Association will organise its two days state level Gatka Championship (men & women) at Machhiwara (Ludhiana) on August 16-17, 2014. Besides, Association will also hold special Gatka clinic for its certified referees at Patiala in the first of next month.This was resolved during the meeting of Punjab Gatka Association held by its president Harcharn Singh Bhullar IPS here today. He also asked the regional coordinators to focus on the agenda devised by the Association for organizing various Gatka events, camps and virsa sambhal demonstrations in the state.
Disclosing this Punjab Gatka Association general secretary Harjeet Singh Grewal said that men and women Gatka teams from all districts would take part in the second two days state Gatka event. He further added that this tourney would be organized under the rules set forth by Gatka Federation of India.He also revealed that Gatka Association would also hold a special Gatka clinic at Patiala during first week of August in which certified referees of the Association would participate. Grewal further added that Gatka rules book-2014 amended by World Gatka Federation would also be released during this clinic.Among others present in the meeting included Punjab Gatka Association patron Giani Ranjit Singh Patiala, senior vice president jaswant Singh Bhullar, National Coordinator virsa sambhal wing Dr Deep Singh Chandigarh, State Coordinator virsa sambhal wing Principal Baljinder Singh Toor, Kuldip Kaur Kang Coordinator women wing and Gurdeep Singh Kharar.
