The PDP leader and party’s nominated candidate for Khaniyar, Mohammad Khurshid Alam while rebuking the ruling national conference over playing politics with Srinagar, stated that the party always bartered the interests of people against political gains.Alam while addressing a various delegations in old city stated that the national conference after emotional black- mailing, played with the interests of the youth-m pushing them to wall while undermining their woes and aspirations.He maintained further that NC earlier used to lure voters by promising jobs to the youth and when everything in the end turns out to be a hoax; people now have decided to give befitting reply to the party in the forthcoming polls. “The trailer of NC’s end was shown by the people in the recently held elections. Now the people are waiting to wipe the party out from JK’s political scenario,” said Alam, adding that history stands witness to the fact that every time NC acquires power, Kashmir suffers the worst with the license to kill being issued by the autocrats.
He stated that in Srinagar, NC exploited the very foundations of the city and detained the youth sans any crime. “They are responsible for throwing thousands of young boys to jails and interrogation centers. The ones who could have been seen with books in schools were detained with the criminals at police stations and central jail. It is NC’s deadly regime that will be written in the pages of history besides the tales of the cruel kings.”Alam said that NC treats Kashmir and the city as its private enterprise, the people of which were jailed and tortured by the NC itself and now demanding amnesty is nothing but a cry of a thief. “It is ironical that those who are responsible for killing and detaining youth across Srinagar are nowadays demanding amnesty for them. They are again hell-bent upon deceiving youth so that to detain and kill them again for the vested interests,” Alam said.
