While condemning the barbaric Israeli attacks on unarmed civilians in Gaza in which over a hundred innocent people, including women and children, have been killed, Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Shah Geelani today announced to observe Jumat-ul-vida (Last Friday of this holy month of Ramzan) as “Yom-i-Qudus” and called for 1-hour peaceful protests after Friday prayers on 25 July against Israeli aggression on Palestinians.In a statement issued to GNS Geelani also announced to observe 3rd Friday (18 July) of Ramzan as “Youm-i-Shodai Kashmir”. He urged the Organization of Islamic Countries to intensify its diplomatic efforts to bring global pressure on Israel to stop the wonton killings.
“While expressing his sorrow over the criminal silence of the world community particularly the Organisation of Islamic Countries (OIC) over the bloodshed of Palestinian people at the hands of Israel, Geelani said that the world is following duel standards on Muslims and the bloodshed of Muslims is not considered as human rights violations”, Geelani said.While terming the new government in India as a fast friend of Israel, he strongly condemned its statement in which instead of expressing sorrow over the bloodshed of Palestinian people, they have suggested dialogs between Palestine and Israel, Geelani said.“While terming the bombings on Palestine and killing of innocent children, old people and women in these bombings as worst kind of state terrorism, the pro-Islamic leader of Kashmir strongly condemned the attitude of the so called civilized nations of the world who not only are maintaining silence over the terrorist activities of Israel but they are patting their back behind the curtain for these activities”, Geelani said.
Though the innocent children and women who are killed in Palestine are Muslims, so America, European countries and India doesn’t mention any type of human rights violation. But contrary to that if any Muslim resistance group commits any mistake then all these nations make hue and cry and all the imperialistic powers of the world name it as Islamic terrorism and attempts are made to defame the whole Muslim community and their religion, Geelani said.While commenting upon the role of UNO, Geelani sahib said that this institution has not only become a ‘Toothless Tiger’ but it is totally into the control of America and without the consent of this country, it can’t do anything, Geelani said.Geelani said the role of OIC as disgusting, the pro-freedom leader of Kashmir said that if this institution would have been active and strong and it would have earned any kind of influence in the world, Israel would not have dared to massacre the Palestinian people in such a way. “Most rulers of the Muslim countries are busy in enjoying the luxurious lives and they are unable to understand that in future they may also meet the fate of Saddam Hussain and Colonel Gaddaffi”, Geelani said.
He said that the pro-Islamic leader said that if Muslims of the world would get united and they will recognize themselves as a one Ummah, the Israel like country could be eliminated from the world map, but unfortunately due to the cunning policies of enemies of Muslims and due to some own blunders, they have got pided into many groups and they are killing each other somewhere in the name of Shia and Sunni and somewhere on other names.Geelani expressed his sorrow over the issue that the imperialistic and Zionistic powers have successfully converted those resistances into the Shia-Sunni battles which could have otherwise become a big problem for them.
Geelani termed the statement of India over the situation of Palestine as disgusting and said that the so called big democratic country should have condemned the killings of innocent people and it should have talked of stopping the terrorist activities of the Israel, but contrary to that this country have proven of being a close friend of Israel by talking about the dialogues at this juncture and this attitude should be condemned at every level.
