In a major boost to Peoples Conference (PC) ahead of the polls , Advocate Muhammad Abdullah Mir, today resigned as State secretary Congress secretary and joined PC along with thousands of his supporters at Handwara.According to a statement issued to KNS, Chairman People’s Conference Sajad Lone, General Secretary Advocate Rashid Lone, District President Advocate basher Dar and Mir Hafizullah constituency head Langate welcomed Advocate Abdullah into the party fold and expressed great satisfaction that with his entry the victory for Peoples Conference in the coming elections is almost a certainty.
Lone added that Advocate Abdullah has an unblemished record in social service and is a highly regarded political figure in district Kupwara. He emphasized that he holds Abdullah in high esteem for giving a spirited fight in the last Assembly elections and securing thousands of votes, on his own.He further stated that the problems facing the people of Langate are unique and that they have been totally ignored and left out of the development process. “They deserve honest and dedicated leaders to address the basic and day to day issues of life,” Lone said. Speaking on the occasion Advocate Abdullah expressed happiness to be a part of the Peoples Conference whose origins can be traced to district Kupwara. Abdullah appealed to the people to support the agenda of change of the Peoples Conference. He further stated that he was proud to work under the dynamic leadership of Mr. Sajad Lone. “In Sajad sahib we have one of an articulate leader and author of new ideas of change and revolution of prosperity” said Adv.
