The Punjab Revenue & Public Relations Minister Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia today threw an open challenge to PCC President Mr. Partap Singh Bajwa to showcase a single project that he personally got approved for the state during last 9 ½ year rule of Congress led UPA government. He said that Mr. Bajwa has secured a single package till date that was the PCC President ship for himself and he never bothered to make any effort for Punjab especially for Majha region.
Addressing a mammoth gathering here on the occasion of felicitation of the newly elected Sarpanches, Panches, Zila Parishad and Block Samiti members, Mr. Majithia said that Mr. Bajwa was a firm believer of destructive politics as he always tried to create hindrances in sanctioning of any project to the state. He said that the rejection of list of office bearers sent by him to party high command has proved his negative approach as he was failed to maintain balance in party. He said that electorates of Punjab understanding Punjab Congress leaders’ negative bias towards the development of state have given them severe drubbing in Vidhan Sabha and recently concluded Panchayat bodies elections. He said that these so called leaders have been reduced to paper leaders with their newly coroneted president failing to secure a single Panchayat seat in his own constituency, reflecting his true popularity in the state.
Mr. Majithia said that under the leadership of UPA Chairperson Mrs. Sonia Gandhi the Congress led UPA government in its last more than 9 years tenure miserably failed to check inflation resultantly the growth of country dipped even below 4% and this leadership has taken the country to the brink of desperation and economic disaster through its non-governance. He said that UPA was on life support system and its reverse countdown has already begun.He asked Mr. Bajwa to list the names of those ‘Congress eateries’ which were providing a meal for just Rs.5 and Rs.2 as boasted by senior Congress leaders that one can have a full meal for such paltry sum in metro cities like Mumbai and New Delhi. He said that Congress led UPA government miserably failed to analyze the reasons that why majority of the populace of country was struggling for even two square meal and now by hastily announcing a half baked food security ordinance was making desperate attempt to find its lost ground.
Mr. Majithia said that when SAD-BJP government in Punjab was running a highly subsidized Wheat and Dal scheme in the state for last 6 years and AIADMK government in Tamil Nadu was successfully providing highly subsidized food on thousands of food counters set up in the state, then why Congress led UPA government took 9 ½ years to announce its food security scheme that too on the time of general elections in the country. He asked Mr. Bajwa that whether any state Congress leader had ever dared to ask Congress high command to support these unique initiatives of state governments.
Congratulating the people of Gurdaspur and SAD-BJP workers for ensuring land sliding victory in recent Panchayat, Zila Parishad and Block Samiti elections, Mr. Majithia said that on one side Mr. Bajwa was trying to fly high like a balloon but on the other the people of his own constituency has grounded his party making it impossible to take off again. Challenging Mr. Bajwa to contest from Gurdaspur Parliamentary constituency, Mr. Majithia expressed confidence that the brave people of this border region would see off this Congress ‘heavy weight’ for political oblivion. He also appreciated the hard work of former Cabinet Minister Mr. Sewa Singh Sekhwan in the region for strengthening of Shiromani Akali Dal at grassroots level resulting in party’s historic win in PRIs elections.
Earlier, after laying the foundation stones of Rs. 34 lac Sub-tehsil office, Rs. 59 lac Patwar Workstation and Rs. 25 lac Rajiv Gandhi Sewa Kendra at Kahnuwan and inaugurating the newly constructed buildings of Dhariwal Sub tehsil (Rs. 34 lac) and Patwar Workstation (Rs. 41 lac) , Mr. Majithia said that the setting up of 114 Suwidha Kendras (36 services), 161 Computerized Fard Kendras (providing fards in just 10 minutes) and 146 Saanjh Kendras delivering 25 services related to police department, Dial 108 Ambulance service attending the medical emergencies in just 20 minutes even in remote rural areas and now recently launched Night Policing Scheme has changed the public perception about the functioning of various key departments extending valuable services in the state.
He said that as the Revenue Minister , he was fully satisfied that the operationalization of 161 computerized fard kendras out of 167 covering 12683 villages out of 13001 total villages of the state has been providing a big relief to the landowners as they were now just a click away from their land records. These fard kendras have been providing on an average 2,31,035 fards per month, he added.Mr. Majithia also paid obeisance at Gurudwara Chhota Ghallughara and said that Kahnuwan has the great historical significance as it had witnessed CHHOTA GHALLUGHARA, during the severe campaign of persecution launched by the Mughal government at Lahore against the Sikhs in 1746 in which an estimated 7,000 Sikhs were killed and 3,000 captured in the action fought on 1 and 2 May 1746.
Later on, he planted a sapling at Jathedar Ujjagar Singh Sekhwan Nursing Institute and Sciences and said that the Punjab government was committed to enhance the 7 percent forest coverage area to 15 percent. He said that a Greening Punjab Mission had been launched last year under which every year 5 crore saplings were being planted and the target was to plant 40 crore saplings in next seven years.Prominent amongst others who spoke on the occasion included former Cabinet Minister Mr. Sewa Singh Sekhwan, Master Johar Singh, Mr. Jagrup Singh Sekhwan, Mr. BD Dhupar and Mr. Tarlok Singh Bath.
