Janmeja Singh Sekhon, PWD, Defence Welfare, Grievance Redressal and Pensioners’ Welfare Department today asked PWD department to evolve a structured method of periodic review of officers to inculcate a sense of accountability in the system Reviewing the  working of various departments in separate meetings with the different wings to the departments to review the progress of the ongoing projects, the Minister instructed the senior officers of the PWD to complete all the ongoing infrastructure development projects in stipulated time period. He ordered the officers to discharge their duty with sincerity and diligence. He also directed them to be punctual. He said that the performance of the officers of department would keep on reviewed at periodic ends.The Minister said that the Punjab has done a commendable job in the infrastructure development sector in last few years. He categorically mentioned that state-of-the-art construction of various highways, Railway over Bridges, Railway under Bridges, Modern Court and Administrative Complexes in the districts besides the construction of new modern jails. 

He instructed the officers to take proper care and maintenance of the roads and other government infrastructure. Mr. G.R. Bains, Mr. Ashok Goyal, Mr. Ram Pal, Mr. Ashok Singla, Mr. Pavittar Walia, Mr. K.K. Garg, Mr. Yogesh Gupta and Mr. Shawinder Singh (all Chief Engineer) and Mrs. Sapna, Chief Architect and Mr. Arwinder Singh, Chief Horticulture and Superintending Engineer were also present in the meeting.In a separate meeting with Mr. S.R. Ladhar, Secretary and Brig. Manjeet Singh, Director of Defence Welfare Department, Mr. Sekhon directed them to expedite the disposal of cases pertaining to retired army officers, martyrs, their widows and dependents. In another meeting with Mr. Mandeep Singh, Secretary, Grievance Redressal and Pensioners’ Welfare Department, the Minister also took stock of the working of the department. He instructed him to ensure the early redressal of the grievances.
