Badal Writes Letter To Union Labour And Employment Minister

Seeks His Personal Intervention For Expediting Process Of Setting Regional Vocational Training

Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today sought the personal intervention of Union Labour and Employment Minister Narendra Singh Tomar for expediting the process of completing the necessary formalities to set up Regional Vocational Training Institute and Regional Directorate Apprenticeship Training near Chandigarh.In a letter to Tomar, the Chief Minister, while underscoring the need to have such centers, said that these institutions would go a long way in strengthening and improving the quality of skill development training in general and empowerment of women in particular. He apprised the Union Minister as per the proposal of the Centre to establish Regional Vocational Training Institute and Regional Directorate Apprenticeship Training near Chandigarh, the state government has identified suitable land measuring 9 acres, 6 canals and 4 marlas. Subsequently, Mr. Badal said that the land has been inspected by the Officers of Ministry of Labour and Employment adding that the process of transfer of land has been expedited and the state government would also provide adequate connectivity to the site. "I seek your personal indulgence to give necessary push to this ambitious project by completing the necessary formalities so that the foundation stone of this project can be laid at the earliest" he added.
