Punjab Education Minister Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema today instructed the higher officials of the department to visit schools in Punjab every Friday to know the ground realities, adequate solutions of problems being faced by Schools. The teams have also been asked to ensure the personal visit with a view to make the field staff more vigilant and energetic besides giving suitable suggestions for uplifting the basic standard of education.
pulging the details Dr. Cheema said that as per the instructions of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, the senior officers would inspect the functioning of the schools instead of offices. He said the sole aim of this move was to further accelerate the pace of ongoing reforms in education department.
Dr. Cheema also informed that these visits will be starting from July 4. He said that Principal Secretary, Special Secretary, Director General of School Education (DGSE), Director SCERT, DPI (Secondary Education) and DPI (Elementary Education) will visit government schools tomorrow. In order to gauge the status of reforms being taken in Education Department, the minister said that these officers would make visits personally and take necessary action.The Minister further said that state government was fully committed to impart quality education. He said that for this purpose Punjab has taken phenomenal initiative to build world class infrastructure in schools and visits by the officers will ensure the implementation of government policies at ground level.
