The Punjab Government empanelled hospitals for Cancer Treatment under Mukhmantri Cancer Rahat Kosh have been instructed to purchase Cancer Treatment drugs on the Rate Contract finalised by the department for the treatment of patients getting assistance under Mukhmantri Cancer Rahat Kosh. For the patients who are not covered under the Mukhmanri Cancer Rahat Kosh or who have already availed assistance under the scheme and now getting treatment at their own expenses, these drugs will be made available on subsidized rates at Jan Aushadhi Stores.
pulging this here today Mr. Madan Mohan Mittal Minister for Health & Family Welfare said that this has been done to ensure availability of Cancer Treatment Drugs to the patients at subsidized rates since these drugs are very expensive. He said that Punjab Government is providing Cancer treatment drugs at very low cost to the patients as it has been observed that for most of the cancer treatment drugs there is a huge difference between market rates and rates approved in Rate Contract. He added that Punjab Government is providing most of the cancer treatment drugs at 70% to 80% lesser than the MRP. Mittal said that all the empanelled hospitals are bound to provide the Cancer treatment drugs on subsidised rates timely to the patients otherwise action would be taken against them. He also added that lists of all subsidised drugs should be displayed at the OPD’s and drug stores of the empanelled hospitals.
Minister said that list of medicines for cancer treatment was finalised by a committee of experts/oncologists from PGIMER, Chandigarh, GGS Medical College, Faridkot, GMC, Patiala and Amritsar. The experts had finalised a list of 140 cancer treatment drugs for which Rate Contract tenders were floated by the PHSC and rate contracts for 81 Cancer Treatment drugs have been finalised so far. Mittal said that for remaining cancer treatment drugs the TMC, Mumbai has been requested to take up the matter with the suppliers who are supplying these items to them (TMC Mumbai) and rates for such items are also likely to be finalised shortly. Minister said that Punjab Government has empanelled GMC Chandigarh, PGIMER Chandigarh, Grecian Super Speciality Hospital Ajitgarh, lndus Super Speciality Hospital, Ajitgarh, Behgal Hospital, Ajitgarh, Max Health Care, Ajitgarh, Patel Hospital, Jalandhar, GMC, Amritsar, Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Medical Sciences & Research, Amritsar, 0swal Hospital, Ludhiana, Max Hospital, Bathinda, Adesh Charitable Cancer Hospital, Mukatsar, Govt. Medical College, Patiala, CMC Ludhiana, GGSGMC Faridkot, AIIMS New Delhi, Acharya Tulsi Dass, Bikaner to provide treatment to Cancer affected patients under Mukh Mantri Punjab Cancer Rahaat Kosh Scheme.
