Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh released a book titled ‘The Last Bend’ collection of poems written by Shri R.A. Lakhanpal, here today. Virbhadra Singh lauded the efforts of the Poet and said that Shri Lakhanpal had written thoughtful poems on mysticism, nature and society. He said that the author has given expression to delicate lyricism and is a poet of nature who love clouds, rains, mountains and glaciers. He said that the author had started penning down his feeling, emotions and thoughts at the age of 72, taking inspiration from Mr. I.A. Richards, the great professor of poetry who wrote the famous Practical Criticism to teach appreciation of poetry to his graduate students and started writing poetry at the age of 76.
Renowned English litterateur and poet Dr. Som P. Ranchan has written forward of this book and also polished the poems.Writer and Tour Guide Shri Sumeet Vashisht and wife of author Smt. Lakhanpal were also present on the occasion.
