Dr. Najma Heptulla, Union Minister of Minority Affairs has asked for result-oriented implementation of all schemes meant for minorities. She said that State Governments have to play active role to ensure that the schemes meant to improve the lives of Minorities reach the genuine beneficiaries. Dr. Najma Heptulla said this here today in a meeting with Shri Antar Singh Aarya, Minister of Labour, Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare, Denotified, Nomadic and Semi-nomadic Tribes Welfare, Government of Madhya Pradesh. 

Shri Antar Singh Aarya called on the Minister to discuss issues relating to Minorities in Madhya Pradesh. Elaborating on various schemes being implemented by the Ministry of Minorities Affairs (MoMA), Dr. Heptulla advocated that new ideas be woven into traditional crafts under skill development programmes to enhance marketability of the skills and products. Dr. Najma Heptulla emphasized that preservation and promotion of traditional arts and crafts of the State should be given priority. The Minister emphasized on creating more awareness among all minorities about their rights. She also stressed on enhanced role of State Governments in maintenance and development of waqf properties. 

Smt Suranjana Ray, Addl. Chief Secretary and Shri Vishvmohan Upadyay principal Secretary and Commissioner, Minorities/OBC, Madhya Pradesh shared constraints, discrepancies and problems faced while implementing the schemes. Shri Lalit K Panwar, Secretary, MoMA assured to consider all points and to extend all possible help. Explaining the paradigm shift in flagship programme Multi-sectoral Development Programme (MsDP), the Secretary said that the level of implementation has been changed from District to Block level to ensure more focussed development. He said that out of the Rs.24 crore allocated to Madhya Pradesh in 12th Plan under MsDP, projects worth Rs.5.00 crore have been approved for the Financial Year 2014-15.
