CM directs contractors to complete works in stipulated time frame

The Chief Minister, Virbhadra Singh while addressing a public meeting at Nerwa in Shimla district said that he would sympathetically consider the demand of the people for upgrading Sub-Tehsil Nerwa to Tehsil. He said that the contractors were not adhering to complete works in time bound manner and strict action would be taken against them if they failed to achieve the targets. He said that those contractors would be black listed who failed to complete the works in a stipulated time frame as the delay in works escalate the cost of the projects and directly lead to waste of the public money. 

He stressed for proper and planned constructions adding that he was pained to see haphazard constructions around the school periphery at Nerwa. He said illegal encroachments would not be allowed in any part of the State. He stressed to get the proper plan approved before starting constructions.The Chief Minister said that he personally knew Prime Minister of India Narinder Modi and hoped that the center would give adequate share to the State.He announced the foundation stone of upgradation of 16 kilometers Chopal-Chokia-Jhiknipul road to be done with an estimated amount of Rs 748 lakh. Besides, he also announced laying  foundation stone of Lift Irrigation supply scheme Maraog be completed with an outlay of 532.57 lakh, lifting water from the Shalvi khud that would benefit the inhabitants of 23 villages besides irrigating 356 hectares of land. He also announced foundation stone laying ceremony of lift water supply scheme Tohil-laloon, karai-Langoth to be completed with Rs 52 lakh benefiting four villages. He also announced foundation stone of lift Irrigation Scheme Lingzar to be completed with an amount of Rs 109.28 lakh to benefit six villages besides irrigating 74.34 hectare of land.

The Chief Minister announced upgradation of Primary School Antrauli in GP Khaddar to Middle School. He also laid foundation Stone of Sub-Tehsil office at Nerwa to be constructed at the cost of Rs.90 lakh.He also performed the foundation stone laying ceremony of the 50 bedded hospital at Nerwa. The Chief Minister announced inauguration of Mashrahn to Podan road of 15 kilometers completed at the cost of Rs 340 lakh. He also announced inauguration of Newati to Lakhwati road measuring four kilometers completed at the cost of Rs 76 lakh and six kilometers and Timbi-Lachog road constructed at a cost of 177 lakh.

The CM announced foundation stone of SDPOs office and residence building to be constructed at a cost of 36.14 lakh.He also announced inauguration of Sarahan–Jhokar road constructed with an outlay of Rs. 376 lakh. He said that the matter for opening HRTC depot at Nerwa would be considered.MLA Balbir Verma, while welcoming the chief minister urged for up-gradation of Sub-Tehsil Nerwa, besides construction of additional rooms for  GSSS Nerwa. He demanded widening of the main road from Sainj to Phadech bridge.Chairman, State Marketing Board, Subhash Manglet also spoke on the occasion and took a dig at BJP on its promise of ‘Ache Din’ by describing the rates of sugar and milk going up within a month rule of NDA.Kehar Singh Khachi, DCC president Shimla Rural and Sabla Ram Chauhan, President Block Congress Committee also spoke on the occasion.

Hari Ram Chauhan, Pradhan GP Nerwa thanked the CM for dedicating development works for the area.Chairman APMC Mahendar Stan, PCC member, Rajneesh Khimta Member Board of Directors, Tourism, SP Katytal, Deputy Commissioner, Shimla Dinesh Malhotra, SP D.W. Negi, Chief Engineer PWD RK Gupta, SE (IPH), Suman Vikrant other senior officers of the State Government and people of the area were present in number on the occasion.
