Technical Education Institutions Join War Against Drugs

The Technical Education Department has issued instructions to all Government/Government Aided and Private Technical Educational Institutions across the state to launch a campaign to inculcate awareness amongst the youth against drugs and become a part of state wide movement against drug addiction to help in weaning away youth addicted to drugs. Disclosing this here today an Official spokesperson of the Punjab Government said that under the Anti Drug Awareness Drive, Department of Technical Education and Industrial Training has asked the institutions to conduct seminars, road shows and other activities in all Technical Educational Institutes to make aware youth against drugs.  To ensure the implementation of these orders at grass root level, Principals of concerned institutions has been designated as Nodal Officers and they have been asked to send photographs of programs organized in this regard on departments E-Mail ID [email protected].

The department have also decided to train 15 students of each institute, who would be educated regarding basics of anti drug campaign, strategy to be adopted to launch awareness campaign besides ways to psychologically handle drug addicts.“They would be trained that how they can make aware others about the peril of drugs and they would be motivated to further educate the other students in their respective in institutions”, he added. Besides this, all institutions have also been asked to organize seminars on drug de-addiction under the supervision of experts from medical and social sector of the concerned area after the admission process is over.
