Himachal Pradesh Youth Congress Committee has protested against BJP-led union government decision to increase railway fare. Hundreds of youth congress workers under the leadership of State Youth Congress President Shri Vikramaditya Singh have staged a protest at Shimla Railway station and raised slogans against the BJP led government for increasing the railway fare and freight charges.Addressing the protesters Vikramaditya Singh said:  “Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has promised to bring Ache Din to the people of India, before Lok Sabha elections and within a month he has betrayed the aam aadmi has increasing the railway fairs.  He has demanded the Union Government to roll back the prices of freight charges which otherwise results in all-round price rise.

Himachal Pradesh Youth Congress Office bearers have also blocked the train at Shimla railway stations protesting against the hike in passenger and freight fares.While speaking to the press State Youth Congress President has said that Indian Railways ferries 25 million people every day and it is the lifeline of the country and the principal mode of conveyance for the Aam Aadmi. The common man of the country feels cheated today as the BJP had promised to bring down prices and get the common man rid of hardship. 

He mentioned that the prices of pulses, fruits, vegetables and other essential commodities will increase sharply with the decision of union government to increase passenger fares by 14.2% for all classes and freight charges by 6.5%.He also said: “Before the Union Budget, the government is planning to give another bitter pill to “aam aadmi” by increasing the prices of Sugar to the tune of Rs. 5 to 6 and LPG.Later Youth Congress workers went in rally from Shimla Railway station to Shimla Deputy Commissioner Office and submitted the memorandum to Deputy Commissioner, which was written to President of India.
