Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan met Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh here today. He was accompanied by State Agriculture Minister Shri Gauri Shankar Bishen. Matters related to agriculture were discussed in detail. The areas covered include opening of agricultural institutions, compensation to farmers affected by hailstorms and agricultural insurance. Agriculture Minister assured the Chief Minister to consider setting up a veterinary college, a centre for excellence on wheat, and more Krishi Vigyan Kendras in the State. The Centre would also give due consideration to the State’s request for relief for hailstorm affected farmers. The State was badly affected by wide-spread hailstorms a few months back.
