Looking at the increasing number of Power generation Plants and better employment opportunities in Punjab, Aryans Group of Colleges has started B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from session 2014-15 at its campus situated on Chandigarh-Patiala Highway, Near Chandigarh.Dr Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges said that Aryans already got the approval from All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to start this new branch. He said that Aryans would admit 60 students in that course and fees would be around 40000/- per semester. Earlier to this, the Group is already running B.Tech course in Civil, Mechanical, Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Electrical & Electronics branches.

Dr Kataria further told that the scope of Electrical Engineering is increasing day by day specially in Punjab as many efforts are being put by the Government in generation of power supply in Punjab. Due to this, many vacancies will be generated in Thermal Power Plants.It is to be mentioned that Electrical engineering is a field of engineering that generally deals with study and application of electrical systems for use in these different environments. It equips the student with the knowledge of transmission and generation of electrical power, electrical circuit design, electronics, instrumentation, control system, understanding electrical and electronic networks etc.It also includes the study of electronic devices and circuits involved in measurement, instrumentation, control and protection of electrical equipments and conversion systems. Concept of computer and recent applications of computer based systems in design, analysis and efficient operation of power system, maintaining quality and security, also included in the Electrical Engineering.
