Horticulture Minister Vidya Stokes will inaugurate Fruit Plant Nutrition Laboratory at Thanadhar in Shimla district on 19 June, 2014. She will also lay foundation stone of the building of this laboratory on this occasion. A Spokesperson of the Horticulture department said here today that this laboratory was being been set up with a view to provide free consultancy service to the horticulturists of the area. He said that with this facility, the fruit growers would be able to get the quantity of nutrients examined in their orchards which would further help them in enhancing fruit production capacity. The facility of Fruit Plant Nutrition Laboratory at Thanadhar would benefit the fruit growers of Kotgarh, Thanadhar, Kumarsain, Narkanda, Nankhari, Rampur area of Shimla district and Ani, Nirmand and Dalash areas of Kullu district. He said that four such laboratories were operational in the State at Shimla, Kotkahi, Dharamshala and Bajaura. Besides, two drying and grinding units had also been set up at Reckong Peo and Bharmaur to facilitate the fruit growers of the tribal districts.
