Mittal To Meet Senior Officers On June 14 To Curb Illegal Mining

To discuss the ways and means to curb the illegal mining in the state Madan Mohan Mittal, industry and commerce minister, Punjab has convened a high level meeting on June 14 at Ludhiana circuit house.Disclosing this here today an official spokesman of the Punjab government said that the Punjab government is committed to keep a close check on the illegal operations in the fields of mining. He said that the prices of sand and gravel would be brought to a level which can be affordable on majority of the people. He said that despite Punjab government’s concerted efforts to nab unscerutlous elements this illegal trade is still going on in some parts of the state. He said that these kinds of illegal activities would be crushed with an iron hand. At the same time he reiterated the Punjab government resolves to maintain strict discipline and accountability in the department which would be helpful in increasing the standards of service delivery mechanism.
