Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Member Parliament from Bathinda, today accused the Congress led UPA Government for trying to woo the electorate in view of ensuing Lok Sabha polls with ‘half baked’ Food Security Ordinance being passed by it, which is actually the ‘Vote Security Ordinace’ but Congress could not be secured itself from the wrath of people despite this ‘political gimmick’. Terming the Food Security Ordinance an election exercise agenda of Congress led UPA government, Mrs. Badal said that history and the present political scenario of the country reveals that the Congress has always proved detrimental to Punjab and poor people of the country. She said that the pro-MNCs policies of the Congress leading governments have always stood against the interests of common masses especially the poverty stricken sections of the society. “Increasing the rates of essential commodities day by day and anti aam-aadmi approach is the sole agenda of Congress led UPA Government, which would show it the exit in 2014,” she said adding it was the old tradition of Congress Party to come out from the forts with sops for poor people at the very outset of every election campaign.

Talking to media persons at Rama Mandi here, Mrs. Badal said that people of the country was tired enough due to anti-people, unprecedented price rise, inflation imposed on them by the Union Government so they have decided to oust with its complete political elimination this anti-people government from the political scene of the country. In a query regarding Punjab, Mrs. Badal asserted that the ruling alliance would register a massive and landslide victory in the ensuing Parliamentary elections on the all 13 seats and the Congress would have to see its drubbing. Earlier Mrs. Badal inaugurated the newly constructed Talwandi-Rama Byepass with a combined cost of Rs. 30 crore besides laying foundation stones for new office in the water works of Municipal Council Rama and other development projects of the area with total cost of Rs. 46 crore. She also visited some localities of the areas where people were facing some civic problems and asked the authorities on the spot to redress the same within minimum span of time.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Badal also presided over a Sangat Darshan program here to know the grievances of local residents of 13 wards, out of which majority of complaints were sorted out on the spot while the authorities concerned have been directed on the spot to redress the remaining plaints in short period.Prominent amongst those present on the occasion included Mr. Kamal Kishore Yadav, Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Ravcharan Singh Brar, SSP, Dr. Om Parkash Sharma, District Press Secretary of SAD, Balbir Singh, Halqa Incharge Talwadni Sabo, SGPC member Mohan Singh Bandi and Gurjit Singh, Chairman Municipal Committee Rama Mandi.
