National Conference General Secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar met various delegations and deputations of public, traders and workers' associations and representatives of employees' associations and assured them of the redressal of their grievances and resolution of their genuine issues.According to a statement issued, various delegations from Pulwama, Tangmarg, Beerwa and Ganderbal called on the NC General Secretary at the NC Headquarters at Nawa-e-Subah Complex in Srinagar and discussed local issues of their respective areas. Speaking to the public delegations, Sagar said that National Conference was committed to the redressal of all public grievances and is a party of the common man, whose aspirations and sentiments have been and will always be paramount for the party.Ali Mohammad Sagar said the Omar Abdullah led government had taken landmark decisions to empower the common-man by decentralizing power and bringing governance to the doorsteps of the people. The NC General Secretary said the empowerment of panchayats by the Omar Abdullah government was a landmark initiative to nurture self-governance in the State in spite of the opposition mounted by the opposition party which had vested interests in power staying confined to MLAs. "We have always been a permanent advocate of giving power to the common man. Our commitment to this end is etched in history in our struggle to give land to the tiller, to safeguard the State subject laws and more recently through the empowerment of the Panchayati Raj System and the creation of new administrative units", Sagar said.
Ali Mohammad Sagar met delegations of the Western Transporters Union, Private Transporters Association and Government Transporters Association and discussed the issues of Transporters and assured effective, timely resolution of their genuine grievances.The NC General Secretary also met representatives of the Non-Teaching Employees Association from the Sher-e-Kashmir Agriculture University and discussed their issues and said National Conference was committed to strengthening institutions that aim at aiding the agriculture sector in the State. The delegation from the Agriculture University highlighted some issues and were assured of the resolution of their genuine problems.
