Punjab Contemplates To Secure Free Of Cost Education To Brilliant Rural Poor Students

The Punjab Government is contemplating to provide free of cost higher education to the brilliant students of poor families of the rustic belts in the state. The under consideration program would be launched in the state in association with the top and renowned private educational institutions of Punjab.Disclosing this here today, Mr. Sikander Singh Maluka, Education Minister Punjab said that the motive of Punjab Government is to provide best possible higher education without any cost to the shining and brilliant students belonging to poverty stricken families of rural areas of the state. 

Giving details of the under process special program, brainchild of Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal, the Education Minister said that the State would soon initiate this unique education scheme in coordination with the renowned educational institutions securing the dreams of brilliant needy students of getting higher education. He said that the eminent educational institutions and academicians would be invited in this regard with a view to provide higher and impart quality education to such students without taking any fees or other expenditures. He said that this noble initiative of Punjab Government would enable these students to compete at par with the other students as the department would extend full educational support besides opening new educational branches of eminent institutions. 

The Education Minister said that education sector is on the priority list of the government and the ruling alliance was fully committed to provide quality education to the students from the downtrodden families.  He said that talks were on with scores of top educational institutions in this regards and the scheme will be unveiled soon.
