Minister of State for Agriculture and FPI, Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Balyan today visited Horti-Sangam, an exhinbition cum farmers meet organised by the National Horticulture Board (NHB). He interacted with participating farmers and was briefed on the schemes of NHB for supporting farmers. Over 150 farmers from major producing states have set up stalls in the Horti-Sangam. These farmers have been assisted by the NHB in producing, processing and marketing of fruits, vegetables and spices. Besides, a large number of horticulturalfarmers have held discussion sessions on various matters relating to horticulture.
Horti-sangam encouages farmers to participate in exhibition-cum-sale events free of cost. The discussion sessions also help direct contact between farmers, retailers and consumers. Farmers also exchange their experiences during these discussions. A large number of stalls are selling seasonal fruits such as a large number of mango varieties, pineapple and litchi.The 3-day exhibition-cum-sale event will conclude tomorrow.
