The Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today gave nod for the issuance of notification to declare Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB) as the nodal agency to act as a Secretariat for the State Level Environment Intact Assessment Authority (SEIAA) and State Level Expert Appraisal Committee (SEAC).Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office said that this decision had been taken in pursuance of notification issued by the Government of India, Ministry of Environment and Forest on May 6, 2014. According the notification, the PPCB would also provide all secretarial, financial and logistic support including accommodation, transportation and such other facilities to the committee(s) for performing all statutory functions. Besides, sitting fee, travel allowances/dearness allowance to the Chairman and the members of the SEIAA and SEAC would be paid by the PPCB as per rules applicable/approved by it. Meanwhile, the Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal and Information and Public Relations Minister Bikram Singh Majithia also mourned the passing away of Mrs. Avtar Kaur.It may be recalled that Mr. IP Singh was bereaved last week, when he lost his father Mr. Pritpal Singh Bhalla (81).
