BJP leader Babul Supriyo Monday slammed Trinamool-led West Bengal government for using the state police to foment unrest and cautioned that electoral malpractices will not go unnoticed by the people."The ruling party is efficiently using police as its cadre to incite violence. It is arrogantly and shamelessly trying to prevent people from raising their voices. How will I assure my men about security when police is working for the ruling party? It is the responsibility of the state government to provide security to its people," the BJP MP from Asansol constituency said."Moreover, they are saying the central BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) team which visited Bengal recently, was trying to heat up the atmosphere. This is like political harakiri," he told reporters in Asansol.A five-member BJP team led by vice presidents S.S. Ahluwalia and Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi Saturday visited Sandeshkhali in North 24 Parganas district, where over two dozen party workers were injured May 28 after they were "fired upon by Trinamool patronised goons".

The team later met the chief secretary at the secretariat and sought action against the attackers within 24 hours.Addressing the media later, the delegation said if action was not taken, then the intervention of the prime minister, home minister and the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes will be sought in the matter. The singer-turned-politician, who was in his constituency to ensure safe return of party workers injured in the violence, stressed that Trinamool leaders have even cast doubts on his Lok Sabha election win."We do not need to say anything more. Their own leaders have spoken about the undemocratic means through which the ruling party won the election. Let the people decide. They will answer...come 2016...we will watch how prevalent the rigging is," he said.Trinamool MP Subhendu Adhikari was Friday removed as the head of the party's youth arm. He created a stir a day later by claiming that he knew how many of those who have won by huge margins in the Lok Sabha polls emerged victorious and "conducted" their own election."In this election, there are some who have won by huge margins. I thank them. I know how they won, how they managed the polls," said Adhikari, who retained his Tamluk Lok Sabha seat this time by margin over two lakh votes.
