Hurriyat Conference (M) Thursday urged its executive member and Anjuman Shar e Shian president Aga Syed Hassan to desist from issuing statements against JKLF Chairman Mohammad Yassin Malik. The Conglomerate has said that statements against each other were not in any one’s interest.

Sources in the Hurriyat (M) said that during the executive committee meeting on Thursday, Chariman , Mirwaiz Umar Farooq expressed displeasure over recent controversial statements and said that such practice should be stopped. Sources also added that the executive council members were of the opinion that there shouldn’t be any more efforts to persuade DFP Chairman Shabir Ahmad shah to stay in the amalgam.“If Shah wants to leave the amalgam, let him do that.” Sources quoted majority of the executive members saying in the meeting.

Mirwaiz Umer Farooq however said that no decision was taken in this regard. “We have made our stand clear regarding Shah sahab earlier also,” Mirwaiz told KNS.“We have urged Aga Sahab to keep restraint and desist from issuing statements against any pro-freedom leader”, added Mirwaiz.

Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq thad convened an emergency meeting of conglomerate’s executive council body members. The session was attended by executive members of Hurriyat (M) which include Prof Abdul Gani Bhat, Agha Syed Hassan Moosvi Al Safvi, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, Bilal Gani lone, Musadiq Adil and Masroor Abbas Ansari.

The participants discussed the political developments emerging in and outside Kashmir. While congratulating Nawaz Sharief for being appointed as the new prime minister of Pakistan, the participants desired that Islamabad should take bold steps to solve the Kashmir issue on priority basis in view of the priceless sacrifices offered by the Kashmiri people. The participants further stressed that Pakistan should ensure the participation of Kashmiri resistance leadership inany political process which is aimed to resolve the K issue.

Expressing complete solidarity with Agha Syed Hassan Al Moosvi, the participants said that the leader always kept the interest of freedom movement on the higher pedestal. They said that as a religious, spiritual and political leader, Agha Sahab has remained actively involved in the processes which have immensely benefitted the freedom movement. As a mark of prudence and broad mindedness, Agha Sahab accepted the request of hurriyat executive council that he would remain calm and patient in the larger collective interest of freedom movement.

Meanwhile, the Public relations head of Hurriyat (M), Zaffar Akbar Bhat, led a delegation to Aglar Pulwama to attend the funeral prayers of two youth, Altaf Ahmad Baba and Mohammad Abbas Sofi, who were martyred by the Indian forces.
