Jagdish Sipahiya, the newly appointed Chairman of the Kangra Central Co-Operative (KCC) bank announced here that the bank has got the Reserve Bank of India’s approval for inter- bank ATM facility and this facility was a landmark in the history of the bank and it would be operative from June 15 as customers would use the bank’s ATM card in all other nationalised banks too. While addressing the Media Persons at PWD Rest House Jawalamukhi, he said he was aware about the ongoing shortage of banking staff in KCC bank branches and efforts were being made to solve this problem. He asserted that none of the bank employees would be victimised and employees would preferably be deputed near their hailing places. He said he would endeavour to grant KCC bank soft loans to unemployed youth with an objective to generate self-employment opportunities among them.
Sapaiya said after becoming bank Chairman he had restored the pension facility of bank employees which had been withheld during the previous BJP regime. “The bank management recently released a sum of Rs 9 crore to clear outstanding arrears of employees and these will be cleared by January next year,” he said. Earlier he visited the famous shrine Jawalamukhi along with family members to pay obiences.
