Vigilance Nabs Patwari Accepting Bribe Of Rs.5,000 To Provide Fard & Map Copy

The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) has caught a Patwari red-handed with the bribe money of Rs.5,000 to provide fard and Sajra (map) copy.Rupinder Singh, SSP, Vigilance Bureau, Jalandhar Range said that the complainant Mr. Prem Singh s/o Mr. Amarjeet Singh of Argowal (Hoshiarpur) has complained that Mall Halqa Tanda Patwari Sukhdev Singh is demanding Rs.5,000 as illegal gratification to provide fard and sajra (map) copy of his land. Acting on the complaint, a trap was laid by a police team of Vigilance Bureau, Jalandhar Range headed by DSP Mr. Kulwant Rai and the accused Sukhdev Singh was arrested red-handed, while accepting bribe money, which was recovered from him. He said that the FIR against accused has been lodged under section 7 and 13 (2) of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 in Vigilance Police Station, Jalandhar.
