In a bid to ensure hassle free movement of traffic over the Sidhwan Canal, the Punjab PWD Minister  Sharanjit Singh Dhillon today dedicated the newly constructed linkage bridge between Ayali Kalan and Ayali Khurd villages to the people. Accompanied by MLAs Mr. Manpreet Singh Ayali and Darshan Singh Shivalik, Mayor Mr. Harcharan Singh Gohlwaria and senior officers of the PWD department, Mr. Dhillon inaugurated the bridge constructed at a cost of Rs 63 lakh, here today.

Interacting with the media persons Sharanjit Singh Dhillon said that reconstruction of this bridge would provided much needed relief to the residents of dozen of villages besides solving the acute traffic problem in the area. He said that the construction of this 23 feet wide bridge has been completed in the record time of 70 day. The Minister further said that the state government was firmly committed for completing all the ongoing projects in stipulated time period. 

Replying to another query, he said that though the SAD-BJP alliance had not got the seats on expected lines but it had succeeded in improving its tally from the seats obtained in 2009. He said that the party was seriously reviewing its performance. Blaming the non-cooperation of the outgoing Congress led UPA government for the non availability of sand and gravel in the state, he said that approval for the files pertaining to the auction of mines were gathering dust with the Union government since long. However he said that with the formation of the NDA government the state government would take up this matter with the centre government and expedite the process of getting clearance for these files on priority basis, so that sand and gravel could be made available to the people easily and at cheaper rates.
