Punjab To Provide Hepatitis B & C Drugs To The Patients At Subsidized Rates

Punjab government would provide hepatitis B & C drugs to the cancer patients at government hospitals. The State Government intends and has taken initiatives to provide the treatment to the patients suffering from Hepatitis B & C by providing drugs for treatment of Hepatitis B & C to the patients at subsidized rates.

Disclosing this here today Vini Mahajan Principal Secretary Department of Health and Family Welfare, Punjab said that these medicines will be provided to the patients through Jan Aushadhi Stores functional at various District and Sub-pisional Hospitals in the State. She said that these medicines can also be procured directly by the Medical Colleges/ Hospitals from the available budgetary grants from time to time. Mahajan said that the Punjab Health Systems Corporation (PHSC) propose to enter into a single Running Rate Contract with the manufacturers of drugs for treatment of Hepatitis B and C which fulfills the eligibility criteria approved by department of Health and Family Welfare, Punjab for supply of drugs/medicine.

She said that the Punjab Health Systems Corporation has invited bids from the eligible manufacturers of the various medicines for Hepatitis B and C. The detailed eligibility criteria for the bidder and particulars of items have been given in the Tender Document, which can be downloaded free of cost from the website www.punjabhealth.co.in.  (through link www.Punjab.health.co.in/index.aspx ).  The tender document can also be purchased personally on any working day till 28th May, 2014 between 10.00 am to 4.00 pm from Room.no.31, Procurement section, PHSC, Phase-VI, SAS Nagar.
