Srinagar Claiming that resignation of certain leaders and workers from congress in the state won’t affect the party, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee Chief, Saifuddin Soz today said that many non-Congress political leaders in the state would join the party shortly.“Congress is a huge party and leaving of workers from the party-fold will not affect the party or its working. However, shortly you will see that many leaders will join Congress”, Soz said while talking to news agency 5dariyanews.When asked about resignation of Abdul Majid Padder from the party he said: “He had no problem with me or the party. However, he has some constituency issues about which he had spoken to me. His decision is purely based on his own compulsions and has nothing to do with the party”.The state Congress President reasserted that the current coalition with the National Conference will last till the completion of the government’s term. ““The NC-INC Coalition is in proper shape and it will continue for its scheduled life span that is till the next elections are due. At that point of time both parties will have the option to decide the next move, keeping their party interests in view”, he said adding “Having said that, I would  also clear the remark which I  made at various public rallies  recently-----that,  I see a situation that Congress party will emerge  as a  significant  political force in the State and my vision was that it would be the  largest political party  after the elections that are  due in 2014. I hold this view without any malice to other parties in the state”.

Prof Soz dispelled rumours that he along with PDP Patron Mufti Muhammad Sayeed and Gulam Nabi Azad had met AICC Chief Sonia Gandhi in Delhi. “When a Senior Journalist and Editor of a News Paper rang me up fromSrinagar late last evening and sought a clarification on  a hot rumour in Srinagar that Prof. Soz accompanied by Mr. Mufti Mohammad  Sayeed and Mr. Gulam Nabi Azad,   had met  Smt. Sonia Gandhi. I was alarmed and told the Editor that it was a figment of somebody’s imagination! It was then that I decided to say something on rumour mongering in Kashmir, as a traditional trait”, he added
