To de-escalate the traffic pangs over the Kharar-Kurali-Ludhiana Road the much awaited causeways along Khanpur Bridge would be completed by June 30 with the cost of 3.30 crore.Disclosing this here today, Mr. Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, PWD Minister, Punjab said that two causeways are being constructed on the both sides of the Khanpur Bridge to ease the traffic load on the Bridge and to avoid  congestion of traffic. He said that the old Bridge would also be repaired. Mr. Dhillon further said that the Punjab Government has set an outlay of Rs. 270 crore in the Budget 2013-14 to rejuvenate the 15 Old Bridges, 78 crore to construct 9 High level Bridges and 59 crore for ROBs/RUBs. He said that the State Government has constructed 41 ROBs/RUBs with the cost of Rs. 740 crore whereas Rs. 301 crore was invested to build 6 High level Bridges during their previous term i.e. 2007-12.
