Senior Congress Leader and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori has urged the DDC Kishtwar and DDC Doda to immediately depute various teams of officers for assessing the losses caused by the untimely heavy rain, windstorms and hailstorms and provide due compensation to the affected area including Bunjwah, Sarthal, Saroor, Bhalessa, Thathri, Chatroo, Srawan, Keshwan, Kandothe, Thakrie and other areas.Saroori said that twin district Kishtwar and Doda, especially the upper reaches were fruit cultivation is the main source of livelihood has been hit very badly, resulting in great losses. Scores of houses and hutments have been destroyed and washed away by the heavy flood and torrential rains.

Several people from Inderwal constituency on telephonically informed Mr. Saroori about the day today problems faced by the people in their respective areas. They have raised issued like non-availability of basic facilities like Ration, drinking water, electricity, proper health care facilities and shortage of teaching staff in local schools.They informed Saroori that many houses has been damaged, most of the many agricultural crops have been completely damaged due to recent heavy rain fall, hailstorm and wind storm but no compensation has been paid to them so far.

Saroori expressed anguish over the huge loss to the crops and has urged upon the district administration of Kishtwar and Doda to depute teams of officials to visit all the affected families covering rural and far flung areas like Bunjwah, Kuchal, Singpore, Bhalessa, Jakyas, Drought, Bunda, Basha, Simbole, Sarthal, Patnazi, Jalapur, Saroor, Kandoth, Rahal Thal, Gorinal and other areas to assess the losses including damage to residential houses, agriculture crops and loss of cattle heads.Saroori demanded timely disbursement of compensation to all the affected families in the state. He also demanded more power supply for Doda and Kishtwar district adding that Kishtwar and Doda districts have witnessed harsh power cuts during last eight months.
