Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Saturday morning visited bereaved families in Kandiwara, Kokernag area who have lost their kids in a tragic road accident the other day. Omar Abdullah stayed with the families consoled them, conveyed his heartfelt grief, expressed solidarity, sympathy and prayed for peace to the departed souls and early recovery of injured. According to Official spokesman, The Chief Minister has already announced ex-gratia relief of Rs. one lakh each to the victims’ families and Rs. 10,000 each to the injured. He has also directed for befitting treatment to the injured.Omar Abdullah directed District Development Commissioner,Anantnag for early preparation of DPR for construction of bridge on Kandiwara-Sagam road and its up gradation. He also directed for strengthening the healt h infrastructure in Kandiwara area.At least 9 children died and 18 others were wounded when a school bus met an accident on Wednesday near Kukernag in South Kashmir.Meanwhile shocked over the silence of Education Minster and Dy. Chief Minster Tara Chand, people of the area have expressed great concern saying,Being Education Minster, Tara Chand was bound to make a condolence statement and visit the spot to get an assessment of the situation.“We can’t expect such a casual and irresponsive behavior of a minster who is not only education Minster but also Deputy Chief Minister of the state.”People of the area told DARIYANEWS.“Almost every one across the political spectrum, Mainstream and separatists were moved by this tragedy, but we are hurt to see Education Minster not making even a single line statement.” added locals. Despite repeated attempts by KNS, Tara Chand could not be reached for comments.
