The State Government would ensure strengthening of the Himachal Pradesh State Handicrafts and Handloom Corporation Limited since it can play a major role in creating employment and self-employment in the rural areas. This was stated by Shri Mukesh Agnihotri, Industries while presiding over the 159th meeting of Board of Directors of State Handicrafts and Handloom Corporation Limited held here last evening.Shri Agnihotri said that the State Handicrafts and Handloom Corporation should ensure quality in their products so that they could compete in open market. He said that the present State Government under the leadership of Shri Virbhadra Singh was committed for the welfare of local artisans and craftsmen. He said that the Corporation should lend a helping hand to promote local artisans, especially in rural areas.

Dr Lalit Mohan, Managing Director, State Handicrafts and Handloom Corporation Limited conducted the proceedings of the meeting.Shri Umesh Negi, Shri Vineet Vij, Shri Shashi Sharma and Shri Rakesh Dutta, Non-Official Directors on the Board of Director of the Corporation also gave their valuable suggestions.Dr P.C. Kapoor Additional Chief Secretary, Industries, Shri Mohan Chauhan, Director Industries, Shri Rajesh Sharma Special Secretary Finance were present in the meeting.

Meeting of BOD of SIDC

The State Industrial Development Corporation (SIDC) is expected to earn a profit of Rs 436 lakh during the year 2013-14, where as the Market Wing is expected to earn profit of Rs 20.18 lakh during this period. This was disclosed in the meeting of the Board of Directors of State Industrial Development Corporation chaired by Shri Mukesh Agnihotri Industries Minister meeting here last evening.

While presiding over the meeting Shri Agnihotri stressed upon expansion of activities of the Corporation so that it could become more vibrant and self-reliant. He said that time bound and amicable settlement of various loan cases should be ensured in order to avoid litigation and waste of time. 

While reviewing the progress of SIDC, Shri Agnihotri said that the SIDC should play pro-active role in industrial development of the State. He said that the activities of SIDC have increased with the merger of Nahan Foundry and Small Scale Industrial Export Corporation. Several cases pertaining to loans were also settled in the meeting.Shri Ajay Bhandari, Managing Director, SIDC conducted the proceeding of the meeting and detailed various activities if the Corporation.

Non-Official Directors of the Board of Directors of the Corporations also gave their valuable suggestions.Dr P.C.Kapoor Additional Chief Secretary, Industries, Shri Mohan Chauhan, Director Industries, Shri Rajesh Sharma Special Secretary Finance were present in the meeting among others.

Meeting of BOD of GIC

187th Meeting of Board of Directors of Himachal Pradesh General Industries Corporation LTD. (GIC) was held here under the chairmanship of Shri Mukesh Agnihotri, Industries Minister last evening. While welcoming the newly nominated non-official directors in the Board of Directors of GIC, Shri Agnihotri said that the Corporation has earned a profit of Rs 361.48 lakh during the current financial year upto February, 2013. He said that the Corporation had fixed a target of sale at Rs 34.12 crore for the year 2012-13. He said that the GIC should persify its activities by exploring new areas.

The Board also gave its consent to allow GIC to sell 500 kg Silk yarn and for various welfare initiatives for the employees of the Corporation.Dr Biru Ram Kishore, Shri Vikas Kapoor, Shri Pawan Thakur, Shri Satpal Thakur, Shri Ram Swaroop Sharma and Shri Sanjiv Sani non-official directors in the Board of Directors of GIC also gave their valuable suggestions.Shri J.S.Rana, Managing Director, GIC conducted the proceedings of the meeting.Dr P.C.Kapoor Additional Chief Secretary, Industries, Shri Mohan Chauhan, Director Industries, Shri Rajesh Sharma Special Secretary Finance were present in the meeting among others. 

Meeting of BOD of Himachal Pradesh Khadi and Village Industries Board

Khadi Board had been instrumental in generating sustainable employment to a large segment of traditional and prospective artisans and rural and urban unemployed youth in the State so as to help arrest migration of rural youth to urban areas in quest of employment and other income generating activities. This was stated by Shri Mukesh Agnihotri, Industries Minister while presiding over the 210th Meeting of Board of Directors of Himachal Pradesh Khadi and Village Industries Board held here last evening.

Shri Agnihotri said that the State Government was implementing a number of schemes aimed at assisting economically backward sections of the society in adopting self employing avocations by providing them loan at low rate of interests. He said that it had been the endeavour of the Board to bring together widely dispersed traditional artisans in rural and urban areas, unemployed youth and provide them self-employment opportunities to the optimum. 

He appreciated the initiatives taken by the Management of the Board and hoped that with persified trading activities the Board would be in a position to generate vast income avenues in the near future.Shri Kailash Chand Gaur, Chief Executive Officer of HP State Village and Khadi Industries Board, welcomed the Minister and apprised him of the activities and schemes implemented by the Board. Shri Manmohan Katoch, Member Secretary of the Board said that efforts would be made to motivate traditional artisans in rural areas to find self employment avenues for themselves in their traditional avocations. Non-official directors of the BOD of the Board also gave their valuable suggestions.Dr P.C.Kapoor Additional Chief Secretary, Industries, Shri Mohan Chauhan, Director Industries, Shri Rajesh Sharma Special Secretary Finance were present in the meeting among others.
