Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh said that organization's play an important in strengthening the base of any political party and acts as a bridge between the government and the general public. He was addressing the General House of State Congress Committee here today.Virbhadra Singh said that election to organizations should be transparent and more and more people should be enrolled as members so as to strengthen the party at grass root level. He urged the party members to uphold the traditions of the Party wholeheartedly.
Chief Minister said that discipline was the essential for any party and ignoring the set principles lead to disintegration. He said that the organization can only be strengthened due to joint efforts of all the members so as to achieve the defined targets.Chief Minister congratulated Smt. Sonia Gandhi for completing 15 years as President of All India Congress Committee.Earlier, Birender Singh Chaudhary, General Secretary, AICC and Incharge of Himachal Congress Affairs appealed the functionaries and workers to work together to strengthen the party base in the organization and stressed on better coordination between Government and the organization.
Anees Ahmed, Secretary, AICC exhorted the members of the organization to achieve set targets within timebound manner.
Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, President, HPCC said that the members of the organization should maintain discipline and work within the parameters of the organization. He urged the members to disseminate the policies and programmes of the Central and State Governments.Two resolutions were also passed during the meeting, firstly to congratulate AICC President Smt. Sonia Gandhi for completing 15 years as AICC President and taking up the challenges for uniting and giving new directions to the Party. The Second resolution was passed to thank Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh for presenting welfare oriented State Budget 2013-14.Present on the occasion were all Cabinet Ministers and members of the Pradesh Congress Committee, office bearers of the party.
