Jai Ram Thakur announces to fill up vacant posts of Physiotherapists

Three posts of Physiotherapists will be filled up in all medical colleges of state

The state government would fill up all the vacant posts of Physiotherapists in district level hospitals on priority basis and one additional post of Physiotherapist would also be created in all the district hospitals of the state except Kinnaur and Lahaul Spiti.This was stated by the Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while presiding over the conference of Physiotherapists '1st Himclave-2019' organised by the Himachal Chapter of Indian Association of Physiotherapy here today on the occasion of World Physiotherapy Day in association with the State Health and Family Welfare department.The Chief Minister said that in the present era of hectic life style and greater stress and strain, the role of Physiotherapist had become very vital. A Physiotherapist helps people suffering for injuries through movements and exercises and manual therapies. He said that apart from relieving the patients from physical challenges, they also help them psychosomatically and movement there by helping them in recovering.Jai Ram Thakur said that the state government would also sympathetically consider the demand of Physiotherapists to constitute Himachal Pradesh Physiotherapists Council. He said that being a hilly state, the Physiotherapists have a major role as the frequency of road accident was higher than the other states in Himachal Pradesh.

He announced three posts of Physiotherapists each in all the six medical colleges of the state to provide better health services to the patients. He said that the state government had taken an initiative to provide services of Physiotherapists in the senior citizen homes operational in the state.Jai Ram Thakur said that the state government would fill up all the vacant posts of Physiotherapists in the health institutions of the state on priority. Additional Chief Secretary, Health R.D. Dhiman said that Physiotherapists help in maintaining the health of the people of all ages besides helping the patients to manage pain and prevent diseases.President, Indian Association of Physiotherapists of the Himachal Chapter Dr. Anup Kumar detailed various activities of the associations and also apprised the Chief Minister regarding various demands of the associations. A Physiotherapy workshop was also organised on this occasion by the Himachal Chapter of Indian Association of Physiotherapist.Director Health Services Dr. A.K. Gupta, Director Medical Education Dr. Ravi C. Sharma, Principal State Training Institute of Health and Family Welfare Dr. Ranjna Rao, Padamshri Dr. Omesh Bharti, General Secretary HP Indian Association of Physiotherapist Dr. Nagesh Sharma, Treasurer Dr. Vijay Bhardwaj, Joint Secretary Dr. Arun Verma, Organizing Secretary Dr. Paras Sehgal were also present on the occasion among others.
