Advisor to Governor Farooq Khan today convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the arrangements made for the forthcoming Muharram-ul-Harram.Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Shahid Iqbal Chowdhary, Deputy Inspector General of Police Central Kashmir V K Birdhi and Senior Superintendent Police Srinagar Haseeb Mughal were present in the meeting.Divisional Commissioner Kashmir apprised the Advisor about various arrangements being made for the Muharram-ul-Harram.He informed the meeting that all district headquarters have been directed to establish Control Rooms of all essential departments for prompt and hassle-free public services delivery and quick action during the Muharram days.He informed that 56 electric feeders will be providing round the clock electricity during Muharram days besides Power Development Department (PDD) will arrange 139 power gensets to all Imam-Barghas to ensure uninterrupted electric supply.He said that all the concerned departments have been directed to ensure availability of doctors and medicines, uninterrupted supply of drinking water and adequate supply and prompt distribution of ration, k-oil and LPG, supply of firewood at identified locations, proper sanitation and cleanliness drive during the ensuing period.Fire and Emergency Authorities have also been directed to remain alert and prepared to deal with any eventuality and 21 fire tenders will be deployed at different places.Khan said that RTOs have been directed to ensure special transport facilities till the conclusion of the procession on day of Aashura for the convenience of the citizens.The Advisor called on the officials to work in coordination with each other so that people are provided all the facilities in a hassle free manner.
