District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Hashmat Ali Khan today convened a meeting to review the arrangements being put in place for smooth conduct of Muharram-ul- Haraam.The meeting was attended by SSP Ganderbal, Khalil Poswal, ADDC Ganderbal, Shafaqat Iqbal, ADC Ganderbal Showkat Ahmad, ACR Ganderbal, SDM Kangan, CPO Ganderbal, CMO Ganderbal, and representatives of Shia Associations.The meeting discussed all issues projected by the representatives of Shia Associations at length. He directed the officers of PHE, PDD, Health and R&B Departments to ensure that all arrangements are in place before commencing of Muharram-ul- Haraam. Officers of Municipality were directed to ensure cleanliness in and around Imambaras of the District. ARTO was directed to ensure availability of transport for devotees.Police was directed to keep in place fool proof security arrangements.The DDC directed that essential services should be kept available in Shia dominated areas so that devotees do not face any inconvenience.
