Lok Sabha MP Chaudhary Santokh Singh and Jalandhar Central MLA Rajinder Beri on Tuesday launched Ayushman Bharat- Sarbat Sehat Beema Yojna by distributing health E-Cards to the beneficiaries in an impressive function held at Red Cross Bhawan.In Jalandhar, 2.91 Lakh families are entitled to cashless treatment up to Rs 5 lakh in various empanelled hospitals.Addressing the gathering, Lok Sabha MP Chaudhary Santokh Singh said that Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh is committed to providing quality health services to all the citizens of the state. He said under this scheme, e-cards are being issued to the beneficiaries for cashless treatment under 1396 packages and secondary and tertiary treatment would be fully covered under it.He said that the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna (PMJAY) families as per Socio-Economic Caste Census (2011), Blue Cardholder families, farmers who have been issued J-Forms by Punjab Mandi Board and their family members, traders registered with Excise and Taxation Department and construction workers registered with the construction worker’s welfare board and all journalists accredited to the state government or holding yellow cards are eligible under the scheme.

MP added that the eligible beneficiaries could get their e-card generated through a network of 100 Common Service Centres across the district at Rs 30 and the same service can be obtained in the government hospitals in the district at free of cost. Likewise, Civil Surgeon Dr Gurinder Kaur Chawla said that at present 14 government health institutions and 20 private hospitals namely Mahajan Eye Hospital and  Maternity Home, Aastha Hospital, Third Eye hospital, Arora Eye Hospital and Retina Centre, Goel Kidney Care, ALTIS Multispecialty hospital, Oxford Hospital Pvt ltd, HP Orthocare hospital, Akal Eye Hospital, Satyam Hospital & Trauma centre, Vasal Hospital Pvt Ltd, Sangha Eye hospital, Mann Mediciti hospital, Shakuntala Devi Vig hospital, Central hospital & Maternity home, Capitol hospital, Vedanta Multispecialty hospital, Duggal Eye hospital, Apex hospital & Maternity Home and PMG Children hospital.She said that as many as 40 more private hospitals have also shown interest in getting empanelled under this scheme and their names are under consideration of the government.On the occasion, Jalandhar Central MLA Rajinder Beri, SDM-II Mr Paramvir Singh, Medical Superintendent Dr Mandeep Kaur, Assistant Civil Surgeon Dr Gurmeet Kaur Duggal, Deputy Medical Commissioner Dr Harpreet Kaur Mann, District Immunization Officer Dr Tarsem Lal, DFWO Dr Surinder Kumar and others were present.
