District Administration Starts Plugging Of Breaches In Phillaur Villages

A day after breaches appeared in various villages of Phillaur sub-division on Monday due to floods, a team of district administration led by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Mr Jasbir Singh started plugging operations in Mau Sahib Village, hit by floods on Tuesday evening. The officials from various departments, MGNREGA workers and around 200 volunteers of Baba Kashmira Singh were on the job to plug the major breach in Mau Sahib with the sandbags. Divulging the details, ADC (G) Mr Jasbir Singh said that there are four major breaches in Mau Sahib and Mionwal villages due to floods and these breaches will be plugged by Wednesday morning. He said this work is being carried out on war footing level to ensure that people were facilitated at the earliest. He stated that the entire district administration is with the people in this hour of crisis.Mr Singh said that elaborate arrangements have been made in the rescue centres where meal, dry food items and medical facilities are available round the clock. He said that the district administration is leaving no stone unturned to provide relief to the flood-affected residents of the villages. On the occasion, Superintendent of Police Mr Ravinder Pal Singh Sandhu and others were present.
