Immediate intervention by the District Administration Mansa today helped in rescuing a farmer who fell into a deep well while working in village Bhaini Bagha. Deputy Commissioner Apneet Riyait said that the farmer Jawinder Singh from Dhillon Patti in Bhaini Bagha village fell into the 25 feet well at around 12.30 pm. Villagers said that the well was dug by the labourers when the soil started felling upon the farmer and he got buried under it. The information about the farmer lying under the heavy soil was given to the area patwari Ved Prakash who informed tehsildar-Amarjeet Singh who immediately rushed to the spot and started the rescue operation. The Deputy Commissioner stated that the rescue operation was expedited by pressing three JCB machines into service and also the villagers helped.Rescue was started at 12:30 and farmer was reacued by 1:55 pm. After bringing the farmer out of the deep soil he was shifted to the Civil Hospital where his condition is now stated to be out of danger.
